Netball club in demand for new State League

With Netball Victoria recently outlining details of a revamped State League competition in 2009, the Melbourne University Netball Club has become hot property. The current competition will be replaced with 10 licensed teams that will compete across three divisions (two Open and a 19/U).

Current State League clubs Ariels and Bayside Stingers are in discussions with MUNC with the aim of developing a powerhouse netball entity for the new competition.

The University of Melbourne holds the current Australian University Champions netball title.
