Victorian Rhodes Scholar

University of Melbourne Commerce / Science student John Feddersen has been awarded the 2008 Victorian Rhodes Scholarship for postgraduate study at Oxford University.

Mr Feddersen was one of four University of Melbourne students to make the Victorian Rhodes Scholarship final selection round, which also saw Medicine, Surgery and Arts graduate Kate Robson named an Australia at Large scholar.

Ms Robson will now go to Canberra with the chance to win one of three Australian Rhodes Scholarship places.

John Feddersen has completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics), a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics and Statistics) and a Diploma in Modern Language (German).

He has earned four University Blue Awards in Hockey, selection in the Australian Universities Hockey team, Victorian Vikings Squad and Australian Under 19 team.

Mr Feddersen also captained the University Hockey team to victory at the Australian University Games in 2006 and is a keen life saver (Lorne Life Saving Club).
