Welcome to Open Day 2008!
[ The University of Melbourne Voice Vol. 3, No. 6
11 August - 8 September 2008 ]
Each year on Open Day, members of the University community help prospective students and their families explore all that the University has to offer. You will find a wonderful campus, the latest in educational technologies and dedicated teaching and research staff.
Open Day is an opportunity to learn more about the extensive range of courses, research activities and services that will be available to you as a student.
This year, the University introduced its six new undergraduate Melbourne Model degrees. At Open Day 2008, you will be able to hear first-hand about the experience of students and staff taking the courses. They can discuss with you the educational and career benefits of the Melbourne Model approach and the pathways the new courses offer to employment, professional graduate degrees and research.
I encourage you to talk to current students and staff, to get advice about our generous scholarship programs and investigate the diverse range of opportunities for studying abroad.
There will be information on hand about Access Melbourne – the University’s program for disadvantaged students – and the services available to support you with transition to University, study skills, healthcare, housing and employment.
You can also find out about the many cultural, sporting and recreational activities on campus.
Your university years will be remembered as the time of your life. When you come to Open Day, make sure you take the time to sample a little of the richness and excitement of life on offer at the University of Melbourne.
