Careers fair

More than 170 employers participated in this year’s University of Melbourne Graduate Careers Fair in March – a record number for the event.

The Fair was held in the Royal Exhibition Building to cope with demand from employers for a one-day careers event with students from Melbourne. Launched by the University’s Provost Professor Peter McPhee, the Fair gave more than 4000 students an opportunity to meet employers face to face, ask questions and get a feel for particular firms before applying for graduate positions. The University of Melbourne is ranked No10 in the world and No1 in Australia by international employers for the employability of its graduates, according to the UK-based Times Higher Education Supplement 2007 World University Rankings.
