Learning Journey Continues

[ The University of Melbourne Voice Vol. 3, No. 2  12 May - 9 June 2008 ]

The University journey continues for Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars

The Class of 2008 and 2009 University of Melbourne Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars recently continued their cohort experience with events held for participating students.

Approximately 1400 students were invited to attend the on-campus events which were held over two recent Saturdays.

The Young Scholars participated in a careers seminar and engaged in presentations regarding student exchange possibilities, as well as leadership and volunteering opportunities available at the University through the tailored first-year program exclusive to Young Scholars.

While still in secondary school, the Young Scholars are able to borrow at each of the University of Melbourne’s libraries – the largest library collection in the southern hemisphere. At the events, the Young Scholars learnt more about the University’s extensive library collection and received their library cards to be able to take full advantage of their borrowing rights through the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program.

The Program is one of academic enrichment which aims to support and assist Year 11 and 12 students from all over the state.
