1. Resumé writing workshops

Resumé writing sessions facilitated by career management and transition company Lee Hecht Harrison (LHH) commence Monday 21 September at the temporary Staff Career Centre on Level 4, Babel Building. These sessions are for staff applying for internal positions. For staff considering options through the ERP, limited individual appointments are available to meet with a LHH consultant. 3. Commonwealth Scholarships in the United Kingdom

Commonwealth Scholarships to study in the United Kingdom for the 2010/2011 academic year are now open. These awards support students from Commonwealth countries who wish to undertake full-time doctoral study at specific universities in the United Kingdom. 4. Bronwyn Jane Adams Memorial Award - 2009 winners

Two awards for professional staff are made in memory of Bronwyn Adams, a former professional staff member of the University, and recognise outstanding performance and potential. The HEW 8 and above award was won by Dr Susanne Haywood, from the Knowledge Transfer and Partnerships Office. 6. e-Volution: Adventures in eResearch and eLearning

29 and 30 September. The CSHE, in partnership with Professor Leon Sterling, is running two interactive seminars on eResearch and eLearning. 7. Melbourne School of Graduate Education conference

8. 2009 Vice-Chancellor's Knowledge Transfer Awards

Themis Financials Intermediate (Internal Transactions) Pilot session Thursday 22 October 10:00am – 1:00pm. Trainer: Karen Ritter. This course is designed for staff who are frequent users of the Internal Transactions module in Themis Financials, and covers Themis Finance data entry and manager users. 16. MU Student Union vacation care
MU Student Union’s Vacation Care Program will operate in Union House over the holiday period from 8:30am-5:30pm from 21 September - 2 October. The program is for children of the staff and students of the University. $40-$50 a child per day ($10 additional per in house activity or excursion day), or for Student Union members: $35 a child per day, $5 additional per in house activity or excursion day. 17. Staff development opportunity - UniMelb Project Framework Training

This one-day introductory training course is now available for 'Project Management Framework', which is aligned with PRINCE2 and international standards in Project Management. Offered at no cost to the trainee for ITS project staff and other ITS staff who expect to use the framework to direct or manage projects. Other University staff are also welcome to enrol at a cost of $250 per person. The training is suited to staff who want an introduction to the flexible and scalable framework and toolset provided by the Project Management Framework. Tuesday 13 October. 20. Healthy participants sought for knee study

The Centre for Health, Exercise and Sports Medicine is conducting research to identify impairments in individuals with knee osteoarthritis. Healthy volunteers are required for comparison. Potential participants must be over 50, free of any knee pain, and have no history of joint replacement. Participants will undergo a walking and strength assessment at the Centre and fill out a brief questionnaire. Testing will take approximately 1.5 hrs.
